Using Plexel on Two Computers.
SEE BOX AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
USING PLEXEL ON TWO COMPUTERS ----------------------------- It will cause problems. Some of the control files are in C:\Websites in particular bannerNum.txt. This file is incremented every time you make a new page so now you will have two copies of it. That can lead to two pages having the same banner number which is forbidden by advertising.com. Example of procedure:- 1. When finished on PC Copy C:\Websites and all subfolders from PC to Laptop 2. Then work only on the Laptop. 3. When finished copy C:\Websites and all subfolders from Laptop to PC 4. Then work only on the PC. etc It is important not to do a bit on the PC and a bit on the Laptop. Work on either one or the other and copy C:\Websites + subfolders over only when finished. Could you please do Utility + Check Banner Numbers throughout folder and see if there are any problems. If there are problems then for each page with a problem do Utility + Replace template ticking the 'Do Banner Numbers' box. That will force a new banner number into the page. Don't do it throughout folder, just for each problem page one at a time. Another pitfall is if I email you a control file to go in C:\Websites and you put it in the Laptop version but not the PC say. However if you put it in the one you are working on (or both) and follow the above procedure then you won't get a problem. > Just thought I'd clarify why I have different versions of Microwaving as > this may seem odd to you. Although you probably never intended this, in my experience it has > always worked well. Can you think of any potential pitfalls?
