- Quite a lot of help on Plexel and making websites.
Screen Sizes. Plexel adapts to screen size but there can be problems.

SCREEN SIZES ------------ Don't feel bad about asking questions, if you don't ask there could be more problems later if we have to redo things. It is possible to determine the user screen size using javascript but it would need something intelligent on the server to do this and send the user an appropriate page. Plexel just uploads dumb pages so it tries to write an adaptable page to suit all screen sizes 800x600 and above. For those with very old screens below 800x600 resolution our pages will require scrolling to the right to see the whole page in many cases. So the whole page is always viewable it is just that left-right scrolling is undesirable. The 'industry standard' is 800x600 now but it used to be 640x480. I am sure some people still have 640x480 but they will still be able to see our pages but need to scroll. > Excuse my ignorance but i'm learning as I go along so you may get quite a lot of questions - the 800 x 600 pixel screen, is this because you have no way of predicting the size of screen and browser a reader will be using when entering the site? Is it true that for those with older browsers if the site screen is too big, tables, text and images may not be viewable to those individuals with older browsers? > > Therefore, is 800 x 600 industry standard?
